CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office could be getting a little extra help this year from a very big guy.
Just call him DEPUTY SHAQ!
A spokesperson for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office confirms Shaquille O'Neal met with Cuyahoga County Sheriff, Bob Reid late yesterday. 19 Action News is told the meeting lasted about an hour.
The Cavaliers Center wants to become a special deputy. The sheriff's office is reviewing his background. Shaq does have law enforcement background from Los Angeles, Miami and Virginia.
The sheriff's office is investigating if he would need other training here and also what powers he might have as a special deputy. Some special deputies do have arrest powers.
