Cleveland, OH (WOIO) - A man convicted of throwing a deadly punch will not be put on trial a second time for manslaughter.
Just last month, Walter Triplett Junior was convicted of an assault case. Sentenced to 18 years in prison.
A jury couldn't reach a verdict on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
So Cuyahoga County prosecutors considered putting him on trial again. But after talking it over with the family of the victim and considering whether any more punishment was likely, they decided to close the case.
