AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Taking out your trash isn't safe these days.

Around 2:30 Sunday morning, a man reported he was taking out his trash in the 700 block of Sanford Avenue when he was approached from behind and a rifle placed against his back.

The victim says he ran into the house and locked the doors. The suspect attempted to kick the rear door in before fleeing.

When Akron police officers arrived they saw two men sitting in a parked vehicle near the corner of Grandview and Grifton Avenues.

One of the men jumped out of the car and ran. He was not apprehended and remains on the loose.

Police did arrest Ryan A. File, 24, of Kryder Avenue.  They also recovered a SKS Rifle from inside the vehicle.

Ryan File has been charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, and Obstructing Official Business. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
