Cop Killer: Hearing Will Determine if a Killer is Released

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A cop killer from the 70s has no where to go.  Anthony Roden was found not guilty by reason of sanity for the murder of Cleveland Police Officer William Shapiro in 1974.

Roden has spent the last few decades in a mental hospital.

A hearing Friday will determine if Roden will be released.

In 2003, a judge ruled Roden could be moved to a less secure facility, but so far no facility in Cuyahoga or Lorain counties will take him.
