CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A Cleveland Browns player is on the mend after an overnight wreck Friday.

Defensive Back Eric Wright was involved in an accident on I-77 merging onto I-490 shortly after 2AM.

Wright was apparently leaving the downtown Jay-Z concert when he lost control of his 2007 Mercedes Benz, rolled over several times and crashed.

The NFL'er was treated and released from Metro.

19 Action News has learned there will be no citation issued - the police report noted Wright was simply driving too fast for the wet and slippery conditions. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Coach Eric Mangini says he is still waiting on some test results to determine whether or not Wright will suit up against Green Bay this Sunday.

Mangini says he is not going to punish his player since he did not violate any team rule, but does wish he made a better decision.

"I'd much rather everybody be home....but guys do go out. You don't want to see anybody in any kind of accident or any kind of situation like that but I'd much prefer that the guys were in. That's each person's decision," says Mangini.
