Cleveland, OH (WOIO) - A bombshell concerning Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert was dropped in a Detroit courtroom Thursday.
Former Motor City Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says he received loans while in prison from several businessmen - including Gilbert.
You'll recall, the embattled and embarrassed Kilpatrick resigned from office after he lied under oath about a sex and text scandal with a female staffer.
Gilbert has spent millions to sway votes for casinos in Cleveland and three other cities.
Tonight he tells 19 action news - quote:
"Together, with several other business leaders, I made a personal loan to former Mayor Kilpatrick. We believed that making a personal loan to the mayor would accelerate his leaving office."
