BROOKLYN, OH (WOIO) - A local couple is looking for one of their dogs that was picked up by someone in a Super K-Mart parking lot.
Layla, the baby Dachshund was the youngest of Carole and Jack Gibbons' dogs.
The couple's home burned down over the weekend and they lost everything. The only belongings they had left were their three dogs. The animals ran away from the house together during the fire and were picked up by a good Samaritan who tried to taken them to an animal shelter. The shelter was closed, so the Samaritan reportedly let them run wild at the Super K-Mart parking lot in Brooklyn.
The three dogs entered the Super K-Mart and witnesses there called the Animal Warden.
The Animal Warden arrived on scene and found two of the three dogs, a Golden Retriever and Shepard mix. According to witnesses, Layla the Dachshund was snatched by an unidentified woman in the parking lot.
The Golden Retriever and the Shepard mix were reunited with Jack and Carole Gibbons, one with a broken leg.
Now, dog owners are desperately searching for their baby Dachshund. Anyone who has seen "Layla" is asked to call 216-496-6773 immediately or email firstname.lastname@example.org!
