CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Judgement day for the Bedford man accused of leaving a little boy in an apartment fire.

Police say Donta Clark was drunk when he fell asleep and left food cooking on the stove last April.

When fire erupted, the 29-year-old jumped out a window to safety but neglected to rescue little Dustin Brown. The child survived the fire.

Clark was sentenced to three years probation in court on Monday. He had faced a max of 5½ years in prison.
