KENT, OH (WOIO) - An armed hunter accidentally walked through the high school and middle school campus in the city of Kent Tuesday morning.
A bus driver spotted the hunter around 7:30AM and called the cops.
Officers confronted the man who says he lives on the east side of town and was walking to a hunting spot on the northwest side of town. He said he didn't mean to be on school property.
The officers took the hunter's shotgun - which was holstered in a case - and gave the man a ride to his hunting spot, where they gave him back the weapon.
Kent City Schools did send out an automated message to parents, but police say nobody was ever in danger.
Police will present the case to the prosecutor but don't anticipate any charges. They believe the hunter made an honest mistake.
