AURORA, OH (WOIO) - A local man is hoping man's best friend will warm hearts online.
Rocque Trem entered his sick German Shepard, Gretchen, in CBS' online competition A Dog Named Christmas.
Trem says Gretchen suffers from cancer and he has shelled out nearly $16,000 to help treat her. This includes taking Gretchen to a vet in New Jersey for life-saving laser treatment.
The grand prize is $1,000 and an additional $1,000 to donate to charity.
If Gretchen wins, Trem says he will donate the charity winnings to Bosco - the hero police dog in Columbus that was hurt diving in front of a bullet.
