Hit And Run: Teenager, Adult Killed In Separate Hit and Run Incidents This Weekend

OHIO (WOIO) - A 15-year-old girl and a 51-year-old woman were victims of separate hit and run crashes this weekend.

Authorities say they are still looking for all suspects responsible for both incidents.

In Ashtabula Township on Saturday, December 12th, 15-year-old Melanie Moretti was walking with a friend on Fargo Drive around 6:45 p.m. when a southbound vehicle struck the Moretti and fled the scene of the crash. The friend received minor injuries. Melanie Moretti was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with  information about this hit and run should contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 440-969-1155.

The second fatal hit and run crash occurred early Sunday morning December 13th.

The Strongsville Police Department reports that 51-year-old Patricia Gaughan was walking along Drake Road just east of Pearl Road when the suspect vehicle, believed to be a white Nissan, hit Gaughan with the front passenger side of the vehicle.
