CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The man accused in a Cleveland toddler's death went before a judge Friday morning.
Deandre Heiskell pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges in the death of Carlito Teer.
Police say Heiskell was watching little Carlito - his girlfriend's son - when he died earlier this week.
The 22-year-old claims the child was choking and he was trying to help, but the coroner says the two-year-old died of blunt force trauma - including a lacerated liver.
The judge set bond at $2M. Heiskell is due back in court on Christmas Eve.
