CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Browns have hired Mike Holmgren as their new team president.
The announcement came Monday that he'd signed on to turn the team around.
"The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that Mike Holmgren has agreed to become club President. The team also has announced that Mike Keenan will transition to the role of Chief Financial Officer.
"We are pleased to announce that Mike Holmgren has agreed to join the Cleveland Browns," said Owner Randy Lerner. "We will spend the rest of the week finalizing the details of the agreement and will make a formal announcement next week, at which time we will make him available to the media."
Holmgren's deal with the Browns is reportedly worth $50 million.
The new edition was previously head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 1998 and then was with the Seattle Seahawks from 1999 to 2008.
