LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - A tragic turn for one of the three emaciated Great Danes rescued from horrid living conditions on Christmas Day.
Foxy, the adult female, died early Wednesday morning.
Foxy, an adult male and female puppy were rescued by chance by police from the Eagle Avenue home of Jamie Lee Chandley earlier this week.
Officers found the dogs covered in dog feces in an outside kennel. The outside kennel did not have insulation to keep the animals warm from the declining elements.
27-year-old Chandley - who also sells dogs - pleaded no contest to animal cruelty on Tuesday and was sentenced to 90-days in jail. She was also forbidden to own an animal for five years.
The other two surviving dogs are now with the Elyria APL and are recovering.
