Man Wanted In Fatal Akron Robbery Arrested

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Officers from the Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Kenneth Ray Wilkins for his participation in the robbery and death of 22-year-old Darrington Griffin Jr. on December 19th.

Wilkins was at a home on Eugene Street around 8:30AM when he was taken into custody without incident. He was located after task force members developed intelligence and conducted surveillance.

Kenneth Ray Wilkins was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Complicity to Commit Aggravated Murder. He will be booked into the Summit County Jail.

Griffin's girlfriend reported back on December 19th that two males came over to visit around 9:30PM. She heard a shot fired, and saw two males running from the apartment. Darrington Griffin, Jr. was pronounced at the scene.

The second suspect has not been identified.
