Officers from the Akron Police Department arrested two men wearing ski masks for robbing a woman Monday evening.

Gregory L. Williams, 18, and Demardre T. Sammons, 19, robbed a 22-year-old female at gunpoint.

Authorities say they responded to a call at 7:00 PM, near the intersection of Sumner and East Thornton Streets.

The victim reported she was walking home when the suspects approached her wearing black ski masks and all dark clothing. She said they pulled out a gun and demanded her purse and money. The suspects took her purse, searched through it, and when they didn't find any money, searched her pockets.

Ultimately, the suspects fled away with nothing.

Officers found the suspects in the area and apprehended them.

Authorities recovered a black semi-automatic handgun that was used in the robbery.

Williams and Sammons were charged with aggravated robbery, obstructing an official business and tampering with evidence.

They are now in custody at the Summit County Jail.
