Indians reschedule home opener for Tuesday

CLEVELAND (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians have rescheduled their home opener against the Chicago White Sox for Tuesday at Jacobs Field because of an impending winter storm.

The contest had been scheduled for Monday at 1:05 p.m. However, forecasters are expecting 3-to-6 inches of snow and temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s.

The starting time for Tuesday's game will be 3:05 p.m.

Rookie Ricardo Rodriguez (1-0) is scheduled to start for the Indians against Bartolo Colon (0-0), who will make his first appearance against Cleveland since being traded by the Indians last year.

This marks the second time in the history of Jacobs Field that the home opener has been postponed. In 1996, the contest between Cleveland and the New York Yankees was called off because of snow.
