GRAFTON, Ohio (AP) - A group of 20 men in northeast Ohio who call themselves Soldiers of History look at themselves as a living memorial to American troops who have died in battle.
The men dress in the uniforms of soldiers from 12 wars -- from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War.
John Lescher served with the Army's famed 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and serves as the group's coordinator.
Lescher says another member of the group, Vermilion optometrist Bob Gray, can speak for several minutes just about the number of buttons on a particular tunic.
Many of the uniforms are authentic, and those that aren't are reproduced with the same materials and by the same methods as the originals.
The group is sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3341 in Grafton, west of Cleveland.
