Lack of Breastfeeding Costs Lives

USA (WOIO) - A new study out Monday suggests that by breastfeeding your baby for six months of life, you would save nearly 1,000 lives.

The study, published in the journal Pediatrics, says that woman who breastfeed for six months saved 1,000 lives and billions of dollars each year.

"The United States incurs $13 billion in excess costs annually and suffers 911 preventable deaths per year because our breastfeeding rates fall far below medical recommendations," the report said.
