CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a 29-year-old male.
As a result of the Homicide Unit's preliminary investigation, a Dead Body Suspect Homicide report was generated.
Tuesday around 9:30 p.m., Fifth District zone cars responded to the area of 10322 Elk for a male shot. Upon arrival on scene the officers located the victim with two gunshot wounds to chest.
Officers received information that the victim and two other people were sitting on the stoop when two black males approached them. One of the males stated "You know what this is." At that time the victim started back peddling towards the apartment building. As the victim back peddled towards the apartment building, one of the suspects shot him twice in the chest with a black handgun.
Both suspects then took property from the victim and fled. The first suspect, the shooter, was described as a black male in his 20's missing a front tooth. He was dark complected abotu 5'10", 175 lbs and was wearing a white t--shirt and black pants.
The second suspect was only described as a black male.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit was notified and responded to the scene. The victim was conveyed to Huron Road Hospital by EMS, where he expired from his injuries.

The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office.
