CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A former producer on CBS' "Survivor" has been released custody but he won't be coming back to states anytime soon.

Bruce Beresford-Redman was released from detention in the early hours of Friday but he was ordered to stay in Mexico until the investigation is complete.

His wife, Monica, went missing on Monday from the Caribbean resort where they were on vacation.

Her body was found in mangroves near the hotel.

According to an autopsy she was choked to death after a blow to the head.

Bruce Beresford-Redman, a former U.S. producer for the hit reality series "Survivor" and co-creator of the car make-over show "Pimp My Ride," is said to have had cuts and bruises on his arms.

He first told police that his wife disappeared after leaving their hotel room to shop.

Monica owned a restaurant in Venice, California.

The couple's two children, who was also on vacation with them, are back in the states with family.
