CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of 50-year-old Patricia Dawson.

Around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Dawson and another individual were at E.115 & St. Clair getting gas at a Marathon gas station. While pumping gas, they were confronted by a group of males.

The driver managed to get back into the vehicle and drive off. While leaving the gas station, the males chased the vehicle and fired multiple shots at the car.

Patricia Dawson was struck by one of the bullets in the back and was taken to Huron Road Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

There are no suspect descriptions at this time. This investigation is being handled by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit.

The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office.

The owner of the gas station tells 19 Action News surveillance of the woman and suspects is available. Police were to pick that tape up for review late Monday.
