Mother Who Tried to Kill Disabled Son Changes Plea to Guilty

UPDATE: LAKE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A change of plea hearing will for a mother accused of trying to kill her disabled son.

Police say Evelyn Dickson drugged 40-year-old Michael Dickson and then attacked him with a kitchen knife at their Willowick home last June.

Michael - who became disabled after a motorcycle accident - has since recovered from his injuries.

Evelyn is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault and corrupting another with drugs. She had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, but pleaded guilty to attempted murder in court on Tuesday.

Dickson will be sentenced on May 27th.

She faces anything from probation to up to 10 years in prison.
