CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A local teen was busted with a gun and the weapon could be tied to a murder.

A man pulled up to a police officer in a parking lot and told him a kid walking by has a gun.  He also said the gun might have been used to kill.

The kid walking down East 116 near Union did have a loaded gun.  Cops say he'd been walking with known gang members.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors say they're waiting to see what investigators can match the gun too.

The city's seen a rash of violence lately including the murder of Patricia Dawson shot as she was pumping gas and confronted by a group of men East 115 and St. Clair.

Meantime, the 17 year old is locked up on a concealed weapons charge.
