TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO) - A Twinsburg firefighter/paramedic was killed Sunday morning in a hunting accident at the Short Creek Sportsman's Club in Jefferson County.

Ty Marlin was off duty when he was killed. He was a career firefighter/paramedic with the City of Twinsburg Fire Department since September 20, 1993.  As a Streetsboro resident, Marlin joined the Streetsboro Fire Department on October 3, 1994, where he served that community in a part-time capacity.

Marlin was also a certified Fire Safety Inspector, Hazardous Materials Specialist and Rescue Diver, serving on both the Summit County Haz Mat and Water Rescue teams.

Ty served both communities proudly and will be sadly missed by his colleagues at both fire departments, along with the many lives he touched in both communities through his involvement in various organizations.
