LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The man who claims to be a 100-year-old vampire appeared in  Oberlin Municipal Court Tuesday after a drunken tirade where he threaten to kill his arresting officers and then suck their blood.

His case now heads to a grand jury.

Andrew Whiteman was inebriated, dripping wet and muddy when he was arrested in early morning hours in April trying to break into a drug store because he allegedly needed cash.

The 21-year-old man became verbally abusive to the arresting officers, and threatened to kill one deputy and his family. He then taunted that he could smell the officers blood from the backseat of the cruiser.

Whiteman was placed in restraints after arriving at the jail, but not before telling a female employee that he wanted to eat her kidney.

Deputies say that when Whiteman sobered up, he was apologetic and embarrassed about his behavior.
