More Charges in Sweeping County Corruption Investigation

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Another take down in the continuing Cuyahoga County corruption probe.

William Schatz slapped with embezzlement, bribery and tax fraud charges on Wednesday.

Schatz - who worked as the former chief lawyer for Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District - is accused of pocketing nearly $700K in bribes from a Cleveland contractor.

He is also accused of bilking over $165K in checks earmarked for the sewer district.

The 64-year-old who retired from the sewer district three years ago.
