CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The latest childhood obesity fight doesn't even involve food.

A county lawmaker near San Jose, CA thinks the toys in kids meals peaks a child's fast food cravings.

"70% of the children who are obese as kids will be obese as adults, and so, at some point, government does have a role. I mean, at some point, we can't just let a whole nation be  overweight and sick," said Santa Clara Co. Supervisor Ken Yeager.

He's convinced that Happy Meals and other food promotions aimed at children could make kids fat as well as happy.

The proposal is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation.
