16-Year-Old Killed, Brother Continues to Cling to Life After Two-Car Crash

MEDINA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A teenager is dead and her younger brother remains in critical condition at Metro after a two car crash Wednesday in Granger Township.

The two-car crash happened at 7:15AM on Wilber Road.

Police say 16-year-old Erin Ehrbar was behind the wheel when attempting to turn from a private drive onto Wilber Road.

Ehrbar's car was hit by an oncoming Ford Mustang driven by Jonathan Slifka. The 17-year-old was taken to Medina Hospital, treated for facial injuries and released.

Ehrbar died as a result of the crash.

"I thought she was a beautiful person...a very beautiful person," said neighbor Laura Szilbasi. "It saddens our whole family that it happened."

"I feel sick for the parents who have lost this child," said neighbor Sandy Rodenbaugh. "They're on the way to school and it shouldn't happen."

Erin's younger brother - 13-year-old Andrew - was a passenger in the car. He was life flighted to Metro with serious injuries and is listed in critical condition.

Seatbelt use is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
