CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland parents charged in an absolutely horrific case of child abuse went before a judge Monday morning.

Parents Andreia Huffman and Jason Dunikowski were arrested for a case of child abuse so appalling, it struck a nerve with veteran police officers and neighbors.

Police were called to a home on East 50th early Thursday morning after one of nine kids inside  the house phoned 911 for help.

"My little brother is downstairs tied up to a table and he's trying to get out," said the boy.

"Who did this to him?" asked the dispatcher.

"My mom makes my sister tie him up every night or she gets beat," replied the child.

Police sources tell 19 Action News Huffman and Dunikowski beat an 8-year-old boy so badly, his nose was sideways on his face. When police found the child, he was hog-tied on his stomach with his ankles and wrists bound behind his back. A rope was around his neck and he was attached to the coffee table.

Huffman and Dunikowski pleaded not guilty to charges of child endangering.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Huffman and $50,000 for Dunikowski.

The children are in the custody of Children and Family Services.
