Driver Sentenced in a Deadly Gas Station Shooting

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The getaway driver in a Maple Heights gas station shooting was sentenced today.

19 year old Delbert Philpot was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Police say he drove Jaquise Lofton to the Marathon gas station on Granger Road and waited for Lofton in the vehicle while Lofton robbed the attendant and fatally shot 29 year old Michael Martin inside the gas station.

Martin was not even working that day.  He was there visiting a co-worker.

Lofton was sentenced to life with eligibility of parole after 27 years.
