CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - An accused serial killer slated to appear before his newly assigned judge in the high-profile Cleveland Strangler case today.

Judge Dick Ambrose will have his first pre-trial hearing today for Anthony Sowell.

Judge Ambrose was assigned to the case earlier this month after the State Supreme Court removed Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold.

She was removed from the case due to negative online postings about Sowell's attorney, Rufus Sims.

Attorneys for Sowell are pushing to have the case moved out of Cuyahoga County.

This, after the bodies of eleven women were found in and around Sowell's Imperial Avenue home last November.

Sowell faces the death penalty if convicted.
