CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A Cleveland man convicted of raping a young boy has been sentenced to life, times five.
Judge Timothy McMonagle sentenced Terrell West to five consecutive life sentences plus a consecutive three years for his gross sexual imposition conviction.
In June 2006 the victim, having finished the 7th grade, attended a church youth retreat, where the youth were encouraged not to keep secrets.
After the retreat, the victim disclosed that he was sexually assaulted in his early elementary school years and continuing over a 3 to 4 year period by Terrell West, a non-immediate family member.
The victim disclosed he had been raped at West's home in Cleveland.
West's trial began on April 12, 2010. A jury found him guilty on all counts, including forcible rape, on April 22, 2010.
