AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Following a two-month long investigation, the Akron Police Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant Friday morning in the 900 block of Battles Avenue.

The unit uncovered an extensive marijuana growing operation. Detectives recovered 450 marijuana plants in various stages of growth throughout the house. Plants were growing from top to bottom in the house, from the attic to the basement.

It appeared the house was strictly being used as a growing operation and the house is directly across the street from a local high school. Detectives also recovered multiple tools for cultivating marijuana; including grow lights, timers, scales and hydroponic equipment.

The investigation is on-going and charges are pending on a male from London, Ohio.
