CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A boyfriend and girlfriend are behind bars this weekend while Cleveland Police try to figure out who shot and critically wounded a 38-year-old man.
Saturday morning around 6:18 a.m., Third District zone cars responded to 2951 E.67th for a male shot. Upon arrival on scene zone car personnel located the 38-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers were informed that the victim's girlfriend was at the same location visiting friends when the victim arrived.
While at the home, the victim and the arrested male got involved in a verbal argument that turned physical. As a result of the physical altercation the arrested male reportedly pulled a handgun and shot the victim in the chest.
After further investigation by Third District officers there was another account as to who shot the victim. In the second account it has the arrested male's girlfriend as the shooter.
Darrel Wheeler, 28-years-old and his girlfriend 28-year-old Tenisha Copeland were both arrested while Cleveland Police determine the shooter.
There are no arrest photos at this time.
This investigation is being handled by the Third District Detective Bureau.
