CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A 19 Action News confrontation is getting action and it could make a big difference when you come downtown to park for game or concert!
19 Action News has found a make shift parking garage charging thirty bucks a car yet not following new city rules. Now, the garage could lose its permit to park cars.
We asked a guy working the garage where all the city signs were and all he said "I can't say anything about that, I just work here."
Turns out, the man we spoke with actually runs the parking operation.
The lot is just one block away from Quicken Loans Arena and charges drivers thirty bucks a car! The parking area doesn't have a lot number sign or a sign alerting if a parking lot attendant is on duty.
Last year, downtown lots and garages promised Cleveland City Hall they would each post that information for your safety in case of a problem.
Our story caught the attention of Cleveland Councilman Joe Cimperman.
Cimperman says the place we exposed does have a permit to park cars, but it may lose that permit if they don't follow procedures. "What we're gonna ask the Safety Director to do, he has to approve those permits annually for the parking lots...to make that part of the requirement to get that permit in the first place" said Cimperman.
Meanwhile, the parking lot will keep charging thirty bucks a car while not posting the proper signs for your safety.
