AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Another urban school district is cutting jobs.
Akron held an emergency meeting Monday night and when it ended 110 people were unemployed, 84 of them teachers.
And according to the School board President, it might get even worse.
"This is just the beginning, the first move on the checker board and there will be others to right-side the district," said Rev. Dr. Curtis T. Walker, Akron School Brd.Pres.
No one is ruling out additional job cuts and building closures.
The Akron district is facing a 20-million dollar deficit beginning with the 2012 school year.
