AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Jurors convicted a 52-year-old man on a number of charges after he assaulted his lover for not making him a sandwich.

Cleottis Gilcreast got mad at his live-in girlfriend last May because she would not make him a sandwich.

He pushed the victim onto the bed and held her down. When he let her go, she started packing a bag to leave with her sister and brother-in-law, who were present and witnessed the incident.

Gilcreast then picked up a knife as if to threaten the victim. The brother-in-law convinced him to put it down. When the victim went back into the house after putting a bag in her sister's van, Gilcreast slammed her to the floor face first. The victim's sister then called police. When police arrived, they found the victim lying on the floor with her face all bloody. Police stopped Gilcreast as he was walking from the apartment and arrested him.

At the time of this incident, Gilcreast was already on probation for a July 31, 2008 Domestic Violence conviction against this same victim.

Gilcreast is scheduled to be sentenced on June 21st.
