WASHINGTON, DC - Today Ford Motor Company announced that its Sharonville Transmission Plant will build the new 6R140 heavy-duty TorqShift® six-speed automatic transmission, specifically engineered for the new Super Duty diesel and gasoline engines.
U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH), co-chair of the Senate Auto Caucus, released the following statement on the $320 million investment that will add about 100 new jobs at the Sharonville facility:
"Today's announcement is great news for Southwest Ohio and a sign of progress in a vital sector of the American economy. This is about jobs and economic security for Ohioans, and I am happy that Ford recognizes the unparalleled quality of the Sharonville Team and is investing it the plant's future.
