CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Three children sent to the hospital after a dog attack in Cleveland.

It happened in the 6800 block of Hosmer Thursday night.

19 Action News has learned the children are members of the same family and related to the pit bull's owner, Bruce Newton.

Newton was arrested for disorderly conduct after he became combative when officers confiscated the pit bull.

He will face other charges for not having proper insurance and failure to control a vicious dog.

The children's conditions are not known at this time, but 19 Action News has learned at least two of the youngsters have serious bite wounds.

One child was released Friday afternoon.  He remains on crutches.
