CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – A criminal is ripped off while in jail.
Police tell 19 Action News that a bottle with about forty popular painkiller pills called oxycodine went missing from a medicine safe in jail.
Cleveland Police have now launched an investigation.
The drugs were locked up in a medicine safe in the jail medical unit. A nurse was performing a routine audit of the safe when she noticed a problem.
That drunk driver's bag of meds was ripped open and the oxycodine was missing. Three other medications were still there.
19 Action News was told that only a jail nurse should have access to any medicine.
Cleveland Police are trying to crack the case using fingerprints and photos.
