CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The home of an 86-year-old homicide victim was burglarized Sunday morning.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News they received two separate calls about someone entering the property at 11209 Whitmore Avenue. The four suite apartment had been sealed off while a homicide was being investigated.

The body of an 86-year-old man was found in a living room chair Saturday. He had been shot once in the knee and once in the chest. Police say they have no murder suspects at this time.

Sunday morning, Cleveland Police were called back out to the same address for a report of a break-in. Officers and detectives searched the apartment complex and found 43-year-old Vanessa Morgan hiding in the basement of the property.

Morgan was arrested for burglary.

The Cleveland Division of Police is asking that anyone with information about the homicide to contact the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit at 216.623.5464.
