CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The widow of one of the masterminds of a Cuyahoga County corruption scheme has repaid the federal government more than $3.5 million dollars illegally obtained by her late husband.

Theresa Damiani wrote checks totaling nearly $1.1 million dollars and turned over  luxury condos in Sanibel Island, Florida which were worth more than $2 million dollars.

Louis Damiani was a partner in a property appraisal company that grossly overcharged Cuyahoga County for its services.

The payments were approved by the County Auditor's Office.

Paperwork filed in the case alleges that Santina Klimkowski, a supervisor in the office was the go-between and funneled money from the company to PO2, an elected official who's description matches that of County Auditor Frank Russo.
