STREETSBORO, OH (WOIO) -  Streetsboro school officials met Wednesday to decide their next move after a fire abruptly halted the school year.

According to fire inspectors, Tuesday's fire severely damaged the building.

"There is significant structural damage to the gym, roof area and the rest of the building suffered smoke, water and heat damage," said Fire Inspector Kevin Grimm.

At this point investigators do not think it was arson, but they are not completely ruling it out either.

An investigation is underway to determine what sparked the blaze and right now, they're focusing on the stage area in the gym.

"There was some combustible material up around the stage one of the classes was doing some sort of production also some wrestling mats on the stage plus the curtain they were all destroyed and contributed to the fuel load," said Grimm.

Seniors are done for the year, but 500 9th,10th and 11th graders have to finish finals.
