WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH), a member of the Senate Appropriations and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committees, announced that the Cleveland Fire Department has received $16,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program's Fire Safety and Prevention program.

"Our firefighters must have the proper resources to protect their communities, and these grants will provide much-needed assistance for Cleveland's hardworking fire department," Sen. Voinovich said.

"These funds will help Cleveland's first responders carry out their vital missions - protecting and helping Ohioans."
