CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Ralph Sierakowski hasn't received a water bill in quite a while. That may sound like a good thing.
Ralph knows the water is not free but cannot figure out why he has not received a bill since December 2009.
"If you area a major utility wouldn't you want people to know by sending them something in the mail," said Sierakowski.
Turns out Ralph's neighbor has a friend in the very same situation. He hasn't received a bill in about a year.
According to Cleveland's water department Ralph's problem was caused by inaccurate readings, most of which are caused by the department's own meter readers.
To fix the problem usually takes between 3 and 6 months.
For customers who may be worried about receiving huge water bills, the department says it will develop payment plans.
