CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - An investigation is underway after a wild night in Cleveland.

Officers were sent to Glenside just before 3AM on assignment. Upon arrival, they noticed a white Chevrolet Impala with at least two occupants.

The officers had the driver of the vehicle exit the vehicle. While questioning the driver, the front seat passenger slid over to the driver's seat, put the vehicle in gear and attempted to run over the officers.

At this time, one of the officers discharged his service weapon in the direction of the suspect vehicle. After attempting to run over the officers, the suspect fled the scene. It is not known at this time if the suspect was hit by the officer's shot and the suspect vehicle has not been located.

At approximately 4:40AM, a thug with a gunshot wound to the shoulder walked into University Hospital and was later transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he is being treated for his injuries.

The initial driver of the vehicle and the victim of the gunshot wound are currently being questioned by the Cleveland Division of Police Use of Deadly Force Investigation Team.
