Four Shot Outside of Cleveland Bar

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Four people were shot outside of a Cleveland bar Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at Euclid and Cliffview outside of a bar called Johnny and Company just before 2 a.m.

Fifth District zone cars responded to 18029 Euclid Avenue (Johnny & Co. Bar) for a male shot. Upon arrival on scene zone car personnel located two victims of gunshot wounds a male and a female. The officers were informed that while in the bar there was an altercation between two males and as a result of the altercation the males were removed by security.  Approximately an hour later, the four victims and other individuals were outside of the bar when one of the males involved in the altercation returned and fired multiple shots into the group hitting victim #1 in the leg, victim #2 in the in the right hip and arm, victim #3 in the left knee, and victim #4 received a graze wound to the head.

The original suspect description was for blue Chevy Camaro and after receiving the suspect vehicle description Fifth District officers began to tour the area for the suspect vehicle. At E.152nd and the I-90 East entrance ramp the suspect vehicle was observed by Fifth District officers. The vehicle was then stopped and the three males and the vehicle were checked in connection the shooting.

Police found a semiautomatic pistol was found in the vehicle and arrested the three males.

After further investigation by the officers they received additional information that a male was involved in the altercation in the bar fired several shots from a red motorcycle and fled north bound on Cliffview from Euclid. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the male.

All four victims were conveyed to Huron Road Hospital, where they are being treated for their injuries. Three victims were conveyed by EMS and one by private auto.

The victims have been identified as :

  • Malcolm McMahon, 38-years-old
  • Maurice Fryerson, 41-years-old
  • Latoya Gates, 29-years-old
  • Regina Graves-Johnson, 30-years-old

The arrested males have been identified as:

  • Melvin Clark, 24-years-old
  • Robert Tate, 22-years-old
  • Marvin Taten, 21-years-old

This investigation is being handled by the Fifth District Detective Bureau.
