LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - A drunk prom-goer will stay out of jail if she promises to keep good behavior. She didn't uphold her Prom Promise.
18-year old Jessica Halter was arrested in May after unleashing a profanity-laced tirade at her prom at DeLuca's Place.
Cops were approached by concerned school officials, who believed the 18-year-old arrived to the dance highly intoxicated.
Halter became extremely combative with police and school officials after she was approached, calling the administrators names and swearing at them.
The North Ridgeville teen then grabbed the chair she was sitting on and started wildly swinging at police. According to the police report, she then started to smack her forehead into the chair and gave herself a nose bleed.
During her arrest, Halter let her legs go limp, forcing officers to carry her to the cruiser. Once outside, she stood on her own and spit a blood ball of spit at one of the arresting officers. She continued to spit blood while seated and cuffed in the squad car.
The teen terror also tried to kick an EMS worker in the stomach who was summoned to examine her self-inflicted nose injury.
Halter pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of underage consumption and resisting arrest. Prosecutors dropped additional charges of assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business in the deal.
The teen was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which was suspended on condition of one year's good behavior, complete a treatment program and perform community service.
She also was fined 250 bucks.
