ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - Crooks kept cops busy in Elyria Sunday night, after two armed robberies in a matter of hours.

The first heist happened just before 10PM at the Bookseller Video on Abbe Road. Two armed thugs burst into the store and demanded cash. The worker gave the punks money from the cash drawer, Western Union and lottery before they fled the scene.

The suspects are described as black men about 6', medium build, wearing black hoodies with bandanas hiding their faces. Both were also wearing latex gloves while brandishing black revolver handguns.

The second armed robbery happened around midnight at the Circle K on East Broad Street.

The male suspect was wearing a ski mask and ball cap when he aggressively opened the doors and stormed towards the counter. He ordered both clerks "keep your eyes on the floor and do not look up." He then tapped what the clerks believed was a gun on the counter and said, "don't make me use this."

The thug then ordered them to open the cash register and remove the money. He fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

The punk is described as a heavy-set man, 5'8" with very short shaved hair on the sides. According to the police report, he appears to be white or Hispanic and was wearing a black t-shirt, black knee length shorts, brown work boots and a dark colored cap.

Anyone with information on either robbery is urged to contact Elyria police.
